Multi-Colour Lighting in Rhythm with the Music
The Xiaomi Sound Play complements your music with lighting effects at the top and bottom of its design. The top Infinity Mirror lighting creates a spatial effect inspired by a light tunnel, while the bottom light ring offers several lighting modes. Choose from ripple, beat and steady light modes to easily match the light atmosphere to the music and your current mood.
Compact Design for Easy Portability
The speaker has a slim body weighing approximately 415g, so you can comfortably carry it between rooms or take it with you outside. A soft rubber strap makes it easy to carry, and practical buttons allow you to control basic functions directly on the speaker. The model is available in black, white, purple and green.
Powerful 18W Sound with Rich Bass
The acoustic design uses a racetrack-shaped full-range driver with a rated power of 18W. This is complemented by an external and internal passive radiator. The result is a rich and detailed sound with deeper, more powerful bass, suitable for everyday listening and providing sound for a smaller gathering.
TWS – Two Speakers for Stereo Sound
If you have two Xiaomi Sound Play speakers, you can pair them into a single stereo setup via TWS. One speaker will then play the left and the other the right audio channel, creating a wider and more spacious soundstage. TWS is primarily designed for music playback.
Auracast – Connect Up to 100 Speakers
Auracast technology allows you to create a more extensive setup from multiple compatible Xiaomi speakers. You can connect up to 100 devices, which can play sound and lighting effects in sync. This solution is ideal for parties or larger shared spaces.
IP68 for Use at Home and Outdoors
The Xiaomi Sound Play has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The enhanced durability allows the speaker to be used safely during normal outdoor activities. However, it is not a professional waterproof speaker and should not be used or charged underwater or in a humid environment.
Up to 14 Hours of Battery Life
The built-in lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 2,600mAh. On a single full charge, it provides approximately up to 14 hours of playback, so the speaker can provide sound for a full-day trip or a longer party. The stated battery life was measured at 40% volume, with Bluetooth playback and the lights turned off; the actual battery life will depend on usage.
Bluetooth 6.0 for a Stable Wireless Connection
Modern Bluetooth 6.0 ensures a fast and stable wireless connection to a compatible phone, tablet or other sound source. The stated wireless transmission range is up to 25 metres, so you don't need to keep the connected device right next to the speaker at all times.
Hands-free Calls with the Built-in Microphone
You can also use the speaker for making phone calls. When connected to a smartphone, you can answer an incoming call directly using the button on the speaker. The built-in microphone allows you to handle a call without having to hold the phone in your hand.
Number of Channels
The number of channels in speaker systems and home cinemas indicates the number of independent sound signals (speakers) and subwoofers, most often in an X.Y format (e.g. 2.0, 5.1). It indicates how many sound tracks are reproduced simultaneously, which determines the spatial experience and bass depth of the system, from basic stereo sound (2.0) to surround sound (5.1 and above). System Type
An active speaker is one that has a built-in amplifier and you just need to connect it to a sound source, either wired or wirelessly, to listen. Passive speakers are more often referred to as speaker systems. They are intended more for high-quality, loud and dynamic listening in the comfort of your home and are not suitable for frequent moving. The main advantage of passive speakers is the possibility of connecting a variety of sources through a separate amplifier.Specifications
