Security class S1 is the basic security level of safes and cabinets certified according to the European standard ČSN EN 14450. This certification is granted on the basis of tests carried out by an accredited testing laboratory to verify resistance to burglary. A safe in this class provides protection against forced entry attempts using simple hand tools such as a screwdriver, hammer or crowbar. It is not protection against professional attacks using more sophisticated tools. According to Czech law, this class is sufficient to store hunting weapons. Insurance companies usually set an indicative sum insured for this class for stored valuables up to approximately CZK 30,000, but the exact value may vary according to the specific insurance policy.
