Solar Robot 5-in-1
The Kosmos Solar Robot 5-in-1 building kit lets children aged 8 and over assemble a moving robot powered by solar energy. Four interchangeable bases allow the robot to change its form and way of moving – it can roll, crawl, drive or walk. Individual parts easily click together, while the solar cell and gear mechanism ensure movement without the need for batteries. Children can experiment with different assembly options and discover how solar energy converts into motion. The kit also includes a pictorial guide that walks them through the assembly process and explains the basic principles of renewable energy sources.

One robot, five forms
The Kosmos Solar Robot 5-in-1 building kit offers various options for assembly and exploring movement. At its core is a robot with a solar cell, which attaches to four different bases using a simple click system. Each base enables a different type of movement, allowing the robot to roll, crawl, drive or walk. Children can switch between the options and watch how the design affects its behaviour.
Movement powered by solar energy
The solar robot does not need any batteries to move. The solar cell converts light into electrical energy, which drives the robot via a motor and gears. Children can observe the practical use of solar energy firsthand. Furthermore, experimentation is not limited to sunny days – with sufficient illumination from a suitable light bulb or halogen lamp, you can also test the robot indoors.
Fun exploration of the world of technology
The building kit combines creative fun with a first introduction to physics and engineering. The pictorial guide walks children through each assembly step while explaining how solar cells work and the importance of renewable energy sources. While building and testing different robot designs, children learn basic mechanical principles and understand how to use light energy to power simple devices.
With the Kosmos Solar Robot 5-in-1, children discover the power of solar energy, try out different ways of moving and enjoy fun experimentation.
