The Twelfth Knight

Vi's favourite escape from the world is the game Twelfth Knight

Viola Reyes is seriously annoyed. Her fellow gamers have refused to play the game she meticulously prepared, her best friend keeps trying to convince her to be "nicer," and her duties as vice-president are being made difficult by Jack Orsino, the school's star American football player and a completely useless student council president. Vi's favourite escape from the world is the game Twelfth Knight, but online spaces aren't exactly welcoming to capable, self-confident girls. So, Vi creates a male alter ego, a knight named Cesario. However, when Jack gets injured and also enters the world of Twelfth Knight, Vi is alarmed to discover that their characters are surprisingly well-suited to each other. Recommended for ages 13+.
