Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD for Sony E

Popular brand Tamron introduces the TAMRON 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD for Sony E, a distinctive wide-angle lens with a variable focal range. The lens glass is appreciated by landscape and architectural photographers, street and many others. It has the great advantage of a fixed aperture over the entire focal range.It is f/2.8 and can therefore cope with more demanding lighting conditions. The Tamron 17-28 mm lens is designed for Sony fullframe mirrorless cameras with E mount. The lens is designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras and cannot be used with DSLRs.

Auto focus and splash protection

The RXD (Rapid eXtra Silent Drive) technology is based on a stepping motor whose drive element precisely and silently controls the angle of rotation; The sensor continuously determines the current focus setting of the lens. The RXD's motor is so powerful that even videographers can keep moving objects in focus continuously. Tamron lenses have a weatherproof lens hood that optimally protects the sensitive interior from wind and weather. The robust outer shell is effectively sealed against moisture ingress at all critical points (e.g. between the focusing ring and the bayonet connection). This ensures reliable operation even in the harshest outdoor shooting conditions.

Special XLD optical members

Like LD, it prevents chromatic aberration and other defects. However, XLD is a much more sophisticated system, which is mostly used in telescopes. Colour defect is a common optical defect, manifesting itself in many ways. We often talk about so-called chromatic aberration, which is more common in wide-angle lenses. LD members are made of special optical glass with extremely low light scattering, which effectively compensates for colour defects, especially noticeable when using telephoto lenses in the extreme position.

Internal focusing

With internal focusing lenses, the length of the lens does not change during focusing and the filter ring does not rotate with it. This makes it easier to handle, especially with longer telephoto lenses, and to shoot with polarizing and graduated filters. Other advantages include shorter focusing distance over the entire focus area and less light loss at the corners of the image (vignetting) and less focus-related aberrations. The fluoride coating permanently protects the front lens from contamination. Oil and water droplets do not stick to the surface, which is therefore very easy to clean.
