The Synology RS1226RP+ NAS serves as a centralised network storage solution designed for rack mounting in corporate and distributed environments, where it provides a reliable foundation for edge computing. This rack device offers a stable platform for data storage, system backup, and running business applications. A quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor with a frequency of 2.2GHz, together with 4GB of DDR4 system memory (expandable up to 32GB), ensures the smooth operation of the DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system even during heavy network traffic.

High transfer speeds and network connectivity
The device achieves sequential read speeds of over 2300MB/s and sequential write speeds of over 1500MB/s, enabling fast work with large volumes of data. Network connectivity is provided by two built-in 2.5GbE LAN ports. In addition, the integrated PCIe expansion slot allows for the installation of optional 10GbE or 25GbE network cards for demanding network infrastructures.
Capacity expansion
The basic configuration offers eight bays for 3.5" SATA HDDs or 2.5" SATA SSDs with hot-swap support. The capacity can be further increased by connecting an RX426 expansion unit via a dedicated USB Type-C port, bringing the total number of bays to 12 and the total raw capacity to up to 288TB. The system supports RAID 0+1, RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 arrays.
Fast SSD cache and efficient storage
The design includes two built-in M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots, which are used to create a fast cache without occupying standard drive bays. Synology Tiering technology automatically moves frequently used data to faster SSD storage, which significantly speeds up the response of applications and database systems.
Power supply reliability
To ensure continuous operation in a business environment, this rack storage is equipped with a redundant power supply featuring two 550W units. If one power supply fails, the backup module takes over, preventing unexpected system downtime and the loss of work-in-progress. This technical solution reduces the risk of interrupting critical business services and protects the integrity of stored data volumes.
