Other Hard Drive Features
Platter hard disks have a notably special construction. Inside the hard drive there is a mechanism with moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that facilitate reading and writing of data. These moving parts are not particularly resistant against shock or impact, but at the same time you get an excellent price/storage capacity ratio. The key parameter that determines the speed of a platter hard disk is the number of platter revolutions per minute, generally known as RPM. In case of the Seagate Exos 15E900 600GB FastFormat SAS, you get 15000 RPM RPM. File access speed and overall stability is also impacted the embedded buffer memory known as cache. The Seagate platter drive includes a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their prompt retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Seagate Hard Disk
If you want to mount the Seagate Exos 15E900 600GB FastFormat SAS in the device of your choice, you need a 2.5" slot. Data sharing takes place through the SAS interface with a speed of 12.0 Gbit/s. This solution is not particularly widespread, however.
