Placing the filmmaker and subject in the frame is easy. Plus, you can record up to 125 minutes of uninterrupted video*, giving you a large margin for long shots or continuous shooting. Brilliant and clear sound
Capture excellent sound with sensitive built-in stereo microphones - or an external microphone. Audio menu offers options for recording your voice or ambient sounds, like music or street traffic. A wind noise reduction function is also available.
More light, better results
The extremely large bayonet diameter of the Nikon Z camera allows the large 20.9 million pixel DX-format CMOS image sensor to capture much more light than a smartphone. You get images and videos with a level of fine detail that your phone can't provide. Inside or outside - day or night. The Z 30's imaging power allows you to record or broadcast the most powerful videology you've ever created - and keep your image web feeds full of impressively detailed still images. Take the chance to get highly immersive content right in the camera without any additional editing.
Clear image even in the dark
Video and images taken in low light levels look clear and professional. You can use sensitivities up to ISO 25,600 for video and ISO 51,200 (with the possibility of further expansion) for still images. And that includes using the same fast, accurate autofocus you rely on in bright daylight.
Comfort and stability even for handheld videography
Simply grip the Z 30 in your hand and you'll immediately notice how great it is to hold. An excellent feat of engineering, which even for such a small camera offers a deep grip that allows a stable hold on the device even at arm's length. And Nikon's electronic vibration reduction helps preserve the nice look and stability of the video footage. If you set the tilt and swivel monitor to face forward, the camera will immediately activate self-portrait mode and turn off all unnecessary information to get an unobstructed image on the monitor. The conveniently placed record button lets you take snapshots or record video.
Action-ready and customisable controls
No matter the angle, the video record button on the top of the camera is always right where you need it to be. A bright red frame on the monitor indicates that the video mode is active. And a red light on the front of the camera informs you that recording is in progress. There are plenty of options for customising controls and adjusting settings. You can assign favourite menu items to the instantly accessible "i" menu and store frequently used settings under the camera's Fn buttons - or assign them to the U1/U2/U3 positions of the exposure mode dial.
Precise focusing and silent shooting for every situation
Demanding lighting. Quick actions. Quiet environment. Whether it's video or still images, the Z 30 is equipped with advanced automatic features that make it easy to take creative control of the results - and for ultra-quiet shooting, you can use the silent shooting mode. From ideas, that you know, how to implement, all the way up to you, you haven't even tried yet - you'll always get results without too much effort, what you require. Autofocus for video uses continuous focus mode. The camera stays focused on the subject - no matter what the subject is doing or how often you change composition on the fly.
Eye tracking and perfect exposure
Available for still images and video are eye and animal detection focusing modes that quickly focus on the eyes of people or cats and dogs. The camera remains focused on the subject's eyes even if the subject turns away and back again. Plus, when shooting in Auto mode, you can quickly and easily adjust the camera's exposure correction, so that the subject or your face always looks well-lit. You can work confidently in any lighting conditions without learning complicated settings*.
*The quality setting (normal/high) is available for all image sizes except 3,840 × 2,160, 1,920 × 1,080 120p/100p, and 1,920 × 1,080 (slow motion recording), where high quality is fixed.
Impressive still images
For photography, there is fast continuous shooting* at 11 sn. /s with full autofocus and auto-exposure, so you'll capture images that outperform the rest. From the city streets to the skatepark: you'll take the perfect instagram shot at every event.
*Precise frame rates for 120p modes, 100p, 60p, 50p, 30p, 25p and 24p are 119.88, 100, 59,94, 50, 29,97, 25 and 23,976 sn. /s.
