Consistent results throughout the zoom range
With the NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S, you can boldly shoot into strong light sources, capture dramatic scenes in backlight or highlight your subject against soft, creamy backgrounds. The NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S expands your options by capturing impressively sharp, high-resolution images - right down to the edges of the image field. Fixed f/4 aperture offers excellent creative control for still images and movies. Capture portraits and macro shots with excellent depth of field throughout the zoom range. When recording video, you can change focal lengths without changing the exposure.
Close-ups
Nikon ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coat anti-reflective coatings preserve high image contrast and suppress the appearance of reflections and veils due to parasitic light incident from any direction. You'll get beautiful images even when shooting scenes with direct light sources in the field of view. Minimum shortest focusing distance and largest display scale 1 : 2.5 allows you to fill the image field with details. Isolate objects against a wide background or experiment with space compression: you can shoot from 0.35 m throughout the zoom range.
Excellent performance for video
The NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S is an excellent lens for video. Autofocusing is smooth and quiet, and the lens exhibits almost zero focal length changes when refocusing and focus changes when zooming. When moving from indoors to outdoors, or between darker and brighter scenes, stable exposure control allows natural changes in brightness for natural-looking footage.
Customisable control and protection against external influences
You can easily control exposure parameters directly on the lens. You can use the silent command ring to easily adjust parameters such as aperture, ISO sensitivity and exposure correction. And you can assign your favourite functions to the Fn button on the lens. The lens is sealed against dust and dripping water, and Nikon's fluorine coating on the front optical element repels dirt and is easy to clean.
Combined focusing system
The combined focusing system uses two driven autofocus units, that are precisely synchronized for fast and accurate autofocusing and dramatically reduce optical defects in the lens over the entire focal length range. You'll get sharp and brilliant images even when shooting at close distances.
