Design and materials
The drive's appearance is the work of industrial designer Neil Poulton, who focused on a simple and functional design. The construction takes the environment into account, as it contains at least 25% recycled materials, specifically aluminium and plastic. This material composition helps to reduce the product's environmental footprint without compromising the durability needed for everyday portability. Precision laser engraving complements the clean look.
Connectivity and compatibility
The drive uses a USB-C connector, which is plug-and-play and requires no additional drivers. You can start using it immediately after connecting. Thanks to this interface, the portable LaCie HDD is compatible with a wide range of devices. It works seamlessly with both Windows and macOS operating systems. It can also be connected directly to an iPad or iPhone with a USB-C port to quickly transfer files or expand storage.
Backup and recovery
LaCie Toolkit software is used to manage backups. This tool simplifies data protection by offering one-click backups or by setting up fully automatic backups at daily, weekly or monthly intervals. The product also includes a three-year Rescue Data Recovery Services plan, which provides a professional data recovery attempt in the event of drive failure, accidental deletion or damage.
