KEF Q1 Meta speakers

Passive speakers for a stereo system or home cinema

The KEF Q1 Meta are 2-way Hi-Fi wall-mounted speakers, perfect for creating a high-quality stereo system or a surround sound home cinema. Detailed, natural, and evenly dispersed sound is delivered by the 12th generation 5.25" Uni-Q driver array with a 25mm vented aluminium dome tweeter. The KEF Q1 Meta speakers also feature MAT technology, which absorbs up to 99% of unwanted sound from the rear of the tweeter, resulting in greater clarity and less distortion. A precisely tuned crossover, developed from over 1000 anechoic chamber measurements, ensures accurate signal distribution between the drivers for optimal performance. The KEF Q1 Meta offer a frequency range of 51Hz to 20kHz, 86dB sensitivity, a maximum acoustic output of 108dB, and are suitable for amplifiers with 10W to 150W of power. Their compact size allows you to place the speakers on a shelf, complement them with an SQ1 floor stand, or mount them on the wall using a compatible B2 bracket. The colour-matched magnetic grille protects the drivers while maintaining the speakers' elegant appearance.

KEF Q1 Meta delivers clean sound without unwanted resonance

The KEF Q1 Meta speaker uses advanced Metamaterial Absorption Technology, which absorbs up to 99% of the unwanted sound radiating from the rear of the tweeter. The specially designed structure acts as an acoustic labyrinth where individual channels absorb unwanted frequencies, limiting their negative impact on the final performance. The speaker delivers cleaner, more natural sound with more accurate detail reproduction and lower distortion.

Speaker with Uni-Q driver for more impressive surround sound

The KEF Q1 Meta uses a 12th generation Uni-Q driver array, which places the 25mm tweeter in the acoustic centre of the 5.25" mid/bass cone, acting as a single point source. This design enables more even sound dispersion throughout the space, creating a wide, cohesive soundstage. With Uni-Q technology, you can enjoy clean, detailed performance not only in the ideal listening position but also in other locations around the room.

Precisely tuned crossover for optimal sound

The KEF Q1 Meta speaker uses a precisely engineered crossover, developed based on over 1000 measurements in an anechoic chamber. The crossover ensures accurate distribution of the audio signal between the individual drivers, so each one operates within its optimal frequency range. Thanks to this careful tuning, the speaker offers you a balanced and precise sound with a natural blend between the different frequency bands.

info

System type

An active speaker is one that has a built-in amplifier, so all you need to do is connect it to a sound source, either wired or wirelessly, to listen.
Passive speakers are more commonly referred to simply as speaker systems. They are intended for high-quality, loud, and dynamic listening in the comfort of your home and are not suitable for frequent transport. The main advantage of passive speakers is the ability to connect a variety of sources via a separate amplifier.
info

Number of channels

The number of channels in speaker systems and home cinemas indicates the number of independent audio signals (speakers) and subwoofers, most often in the format X.Y (e.g., 2.0, 5.1). It specifies how many audio tracks are reproduced simultaneously, which determines the spatial experience and bass depth of the system, from basic stereo sound (2.0) to surround sound (5.1 and higher).
