The Flash Air Format is a function in the camera menu designed for special types of SD memory cards that have a built-in wireless Wi-Fi module. These cards, known as FlashAir, enable the wireless transfer of photos, for example, to a computer or a smartphone. Regular formatting of the memory card could also erase the software that ensures Wi-Fi functionality, thus turning the card into an ordinary memory card without wireless features. The "Flash Air Format" option ensures that only user data, such as photos and videos, are deleted from the card, while the files necessary for Wi-Fi operation remain untouched. This way, the card can be safely cleaned and prepared for further shooting while preserving its special functionality.
