The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 50-140mm F/2.8 WR lens offers outstanding optical quality with minimal distortion and sharp details thanks to a complex optical system consisting of 23 elements in 16 groups. Also included are 5 ED elements and a Super ED (extra-low dispersion) lens to minimize chromatic aberration. The large maximum aperture of F2.8 allows for rich bokeh and, together with high-speed autofocus, helps capture fast motion without losing sharpness. In addition, the rounded seven-layer aperture contributes to a pleasing soft, circular defocus quality when working with selective focus techniques. The lens is equipped with a 5 EV equivalent Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) system with a unique algorithm that suppresses variation caused by temperature changes. OIS senses lens movement using a powerful gyro sensor and then corrects this movement using moving optical elements in the lens.

Fast, quiet and accurate autofocus

The AF autofocus system of the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 50-140mm is equipped with three 120° linear motors. It delivers smooth and near-silent performance and is convenient for shooting video and working in noise-sensitive areas. The AF system maintains balance throughout the zoom range and at any distance. It has no impact on the photographer's grip when holding it. Balanced lens shape minimizes shake during high-speed shooting. Even faster focus speed and accuracy can be achieved by combining with Fujifilm X Series cameras that support Phase Detection AF technology. Phase Detection AF uses a special sensor to detect differences in the phase of light passing through different parts of the lens, allowing fast and accurate focusing even when the camera or subject is moving.

Anti-reflective treatments and image clarity

The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 50-140mm lens lens configuration and coating have been used to provide maximum clarity, without any haze or veiling, allowing the photographer to capture exactly what his eyes see. Fujifilm's unique HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) coating on the entire lens surface minimizes surface reflections, prevents flare and image doubling, resulting in a sharp and clear image. In addition, a Nano-GI (Gradient Index) layer was applied to the elements to change the refractive index between the elements to effectively suppress glare from obliquely incident light.

Image optimization with LMO

By combining the Fujifilm Fujinon XF 50-140mm lens with the X Series camera body with Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) technology, its performance has been further improved. LMO is a sophisticated algorithm that improves image quality by correcting various optical errors and distortions that can occur when using high-speed, high-resolution lenses. Correction is usually done through software adjustments, but this can result in a reduction in image quality. However, LMO allows this correction to be done in real time while maintaining image quality and is activated in Live View mode.

Dual stabilisation and tripod clamp

" (Dual Image Stabilisation), which uses a combination of two stabilisation systems - optical stabilisation in the lens and sensor-based image stabilisation in the body of selected Fujifilm cameras. The combination of systems can effectively compensate for any movement, including shake in both horizontal and vertical directions, which is useful for handheld shooting and results in even more stable and sharper photos even when using longer focal lengths or slower exposure times. The lens comes with an Arca-Swiss standard tripod clamp, which allows the camera to be easily and quickly attached to a tripod or monopod.
