For the price, the TP-Link LS105G is an excellent gigabit switch. It features a high-quality metal build, quiet fanless operation and very simple plug-and-play installation – simply connect the power and network cables; no configuration is required. With five Gigabit ports, it is ideal for expanding a home or small business network. I also appreciate its low energy consumption and reliable operation.
The only minor drawback is that the plastic around the Ethernet sockets doesn’t look as high-quality as the device’s metal body. Another limitation is that it is an unmanaged switch, so it does not support advanced features such as VLAN management or PoE power supply. However, most ordinary users don’t need that at all.
