I was comparing these binoculars primarily for night observation: Nikon Aculon 10X50, Nikon Aculon 12X50, Practica Falcon 12X50, Fomei Beater FMC 10X50. Falcon due to BK7 glass worse image quality and luminosity. Not suitable for astronomy, but decent for the price, ok for daytime observing. The Fomei is a good, well made, waterproof, nitrogen filled gun. Just not in astronomy either. Despite the BAK4 prisms, the light is quite low, and the field of view is small, it's like looking through a roll of toilet paper. Both Nikons far superior to the previous two devices. Tough choice, minimal difference. The 12X50 has better magnification, the 10X50 is a bit brighter and has a larger field of view. I chose the 10X50.
