The comments here are very misleading mostly due to ignorance. The light bulb itself needs a Zigbee gateway to be set up. But so does every Zigbee device. I was very pleased to see that it already has very reasonable lighting schedules set up by default according to the time of day. I was worried how it would behave if I didn't switch it off with SW, but with the classic switch (disconnecting the power). Apparently the bulb has its own memory and depending on what you set, that's what happens when you connect power. It starts immediately. Of course, the pairing also holds after the power is turned off and on.
