6400dpi is obviously stupid. According to the tests it can barely handle 2600-2900 dpi which is still decent for medium format and usable for more serious work. The Nikon 9000 is not.

I don't recommend it for 35mm film. Poor resolution. It is better to use a specialized scanner like Reflecta rps 10m in a similar price.
