Why, the manufacturers keep trying to invent fancy ones and make the working ones dysfunctional. When you plug this charger in, it turns on for a few seconds. It then goes into sleep mode and when you plug in your phone, it doesn't start charging. You need to eject/retract the USB or the whole charger.
