Mini LED is not OLED, but it is a decent compromise, black is a nice black. however, it is necessary to set it in the menu.

In the beginning I was happy with the TV. The system is fast and easy to use, you can install any APK you want, and you're not limited to Netflix and YouTube.
But then the problems started. Although it's a miniLED, the black level is far from OLED - even a completely dark scene is just grey. For movies, the picture is only "satisfactory", nothing more. All AI features, except for slight motion smoothing, tend to degrade the image. Even the smoothing only works on the weakest mode, otherwise smudges and ghosting are significant.
The biggest problem is the quality of the panel. After plugging in the PlayStation 5, I immediately put the TV up for sale. I'm almost certain it's a very cheap VA panel, because such extreme ghosting would not be possible with IPS at all. Any game turns into a blurry mess at the slightest camera movement, and watching it hurts your eyes. I've gone through all the settings - it's impossible to remove, the panel is just crappy quality.
HDR is also practically useless here. Instead of proper contrast, you either get impenetrable darkness even where there should be only light shadows, or it burns your eyes even in normally bright scenes. Don't expect a realistic HDR image here.
Because of the fact that one can't even reliably tell the type of panel on these TVs, I will never buy anything other than OLED again. I paid 10k extra and the difference is huge - OLED is a joy for the eyes.
If you have the opportunity to pay extra, do it. If not, I don't recommend Xiaomi. Even for movies, the VA panel is the worst choice. Better go to the trouble of finding at least an IPS, save your eyes and your nerves.
