From the plantation to your table
Did you know that cranberries are grown in waterlogged areas that completely flood at harvest time. Farmers then use water machines called "eggbeaters", similar to our combine harvester, to stir the water and release the cranberries from the vines. The crumbs have an air pocket in them, so they float to the surface, where they are collected by floating rollers. This whole process takes place in autumn, when the cranberries reach their darkest and sweetest form.
