Choosing a power supply
When choosing a suitable PC power supply, the key parameter besides the form factor is its power output. This indicates the maximum number of Watts the PSU can continuously supply to the components in the computer. It is a good idea to use a web calculator to determine the optimal power output based on your chosen components.
Innovative GaN MOSFET transistors
GaN MOSFET transistors provide up to 30% higher energy efficiency compared to conventional solutions. GaN MOSFETs deliver up to 30% more energy savings and a more organised internal layout, ensuring cooler operation. The compact size of GaN MOSFET transistors reduces energy losses and enables a neater internal layout for the PSU. This optimised design provides space for larger heatsinks and better airflow, which improves heat dissipation within the PC power supply.
Advanced cooling and quiet operation
The large ROG heatsinks cover key components, reducing operating temperatures and noise while extending the PSU's lifespan. The 0dB technology, combined with efficient cooling, enables silent operation under low loads. In addition, the fan's dual ball bearings have up to twice the lifespan of sleeve bearings.
Compatibility and stable power
The ROG Strix Platinum is compatible with the ATX 3.1 standard, ensuring better voltage and current regulation. The "GPU-FIRST" voltage sensing with a patented smart voltage stabiliser increases voltage delivery to the graphics card by up to 45%, ensuring smoother gameplay and unwavering performance. The ROG Strix Platinum is equipped with a native 12V-2x6 connector for powering graphics cards. It uses low-ESR capacitors and selected components to ensure high energy efficiency.
Flexible and safe cables
These etched cables are made from a pliable material. They are easy to bend during installation and operate at temperatures 50°C lower than the safety limit while routing cables. The cables meet UL1581 flammability standards and UL758 certification, ensuring a smooth PC assembly process and a high level of safety.

80 Plus certification in the European market
The 80 Plus certification was created to objectively assess the efficiency of computer power supplies. This gives users a simple and clear way to compare different models. In the European market (where 230V is used), there are six levels of 80 Plus certification with set requirements for PC power supplies. Higher energy efficiency primarily means lower energy consumption.
| PC power supply load | Efficiency at 20% load | Efficiency at 50% load | Efficiency at 100% load |
|---|---|---|---|
| 80 PLUS | 82% | 85% | 82% |
| 80 PLUS Bronze | 85% | 88% | 85% |
| 80 PLUS Silver | 87% | 90% | 87% |
| 80 PLUS Gold | 90% | 92% | 89% |
| 80 PLUS Platinum | 92% | 94% | 90% |
| 80 PLUS Titanium | 94% | 96% | 94% |
