APC Smart-UPS 2200VA LCD RM 2U 230V with SmartConnect rack-mount

APC Smart-UPS 2200VA LCD RM 2U 230V with SmartConnect rack-mount
The APC Smart-UPS 2200VA is a line-interactive UPS designed for mounting in a 2U data rack. With a nominal power of 2200VA and a real power of 1980W, it supplies energy to critical infrastructure. A backup time of 5 minutes and 27 seconds at full load and 16 minutes and 6 seconds at half load provides enough time for controlled shutdowns. The line-interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) stabilises the input voltage without having to switch to battery power. The output voltage has a pure sine wave form, ensuring reliable power for sensitive electronics. This UPS with AVR protects connected server and network equipment not only from outages but also from overvoltage and undervoltage in the network. In addition, the integrated SmartConnect port provides access to cloud-based power status monitoring.
Key features of the APC Smart-UPS 2200VA LCD RM 2U 230V with SmartConnect rackmount UPS
- Line-interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
- Pure sine wave output suitable for sensitive electronics
- Remote status monitoring via the SmartConnect cloud service
- Expandable with a network card via the free SmartSlot
- User-replaceable battery without interrupting operation
- Designed for mounting in a data rack
- Includes communication ports for local management
- Provides surge protection for power and network cables
Performance and topology
The device uses a line-interactive topology. The configuration includes Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which corrects fluctuations without switching to the battery, thereby extending its lifespan. The apparent power reaches 2200VA and the real power is 1980W. The output voltage has a pure sine wave form. At full load, it provides a backup time of 5.5 minutes; at half load, this extends to 17.25 minutes.
Battery and protection features
It contains a built-in lead-acid battery (type RBC43) that can be replaced by the user. The surge protection, with an energy absorption of 375J, effectively prevents damage to connected electronics. The switchover time to battery power is typically 6ms, with a maximum of 10ms. The device also supports protection for the network cable against voltage spikes.
Remote management
For local communication and management, the manufacturer has equipped the device with USB and RS-232 ports. The integrated SmartConnect port enables cloud-based power status monitoring, remote diagnostics, and proactive email alerts without the need for additional hardware or software. For advanced features, such as controlled shutdown of physical servers or virtual machines using PowerChute Network Shutdown software, there is a free SmartSlot for installing an optional Network Management Card. This also supports connection to the EcoStruxure IT platform.
Connectivity options
The UPS provides a wide range of connection options for various types of equipment. To connect the load, it offers a total of eight IEC C13 sockets and one IEC C19. Also included are three IEC Jumper cables. The input connection is handled by an IEC 320 C20 connector, and it includes power cords for both British and Schuko sockets.
