Microsoft Surface Studio

Microsoft Surface Studio
Although Microsoft is a well-known software giant, its occasional ventures into the field of dedicated hardware tend to be equally successful. The popular Surface series now includes Surface Studio, an all-in-one PC. This is the very first Microsoft desktop, and, as the name suggests, it is designed mainly for graphics studios, designers, and other creative professionals.
Key Features
- An epic all-in-one PC from Microsoft
- Unrivalled display with multitouch controls
- Tilting functionality allows you to use it like a drafting table
- Support for Surface Pen
- Powerful enough to process 4K video
One of the slimmest screens in the world
Surface Studio features a 28" display with PixelSense technology, 4500 x 3000 resolution, and a 1100:1 contrast ratio. Its unusual 3:2 aspect ratio is ideal for graphics work and provides plenty of space for a 4K video-editing programs. The display also offers digital pen support and features a remarkably wide colour gamut. The whole display occupies a 12.5 mm thin aluminium casing, as all the hardware components are encased in the small base.
New options for your ideas
The screen features multi-touch technology with 10 touch points. It also supports Surface Pen with virtually zero lag. According to Microsoft, Surface Studio lets you draw and write as you would with paper and pen. The display can accommodate two full A4 pages. Surface Pen gives you 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity and can be neatly clipped to the frame.
Powerful hardware
Under the hood, Surface Studio hides hardware powerful enough to handle its massive display resolution. The computer is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, accompanied by 32 GB RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M graphics card. Its hybrid storage up to 2 TB provides plenty of room, though its storage space can be further expanded via external USB 3.0 drives or network NAS storage. The device also comes with quality stereo speakers, an SD card reader, Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet, and of course a 3.5 mm audio jack.
