Data protection
Your stored files are protected by 256-bit AES hardware encryption. This type of encryption operates at the drive's hardware level, independently of your computer's operating system, and does not affect its performance. You can set up data access with a password using the included software. This combination protects the drive's contents from unauthorised access if it is lost or stolen, as all data remains unreadable without the correct password.
Automated backup
The product includes Acronis True Image for Western Digital software for managing backups. This tool automatically schedules backups of files, folders or a full system image according to your set schedule. The software also includes active protection against ransomware. This feature monitors the system in real time and prevents applications from encrypting data without authorisation. When it detects suspicious activity, it blocks the process.
Made from sustainable materials
The compact design and low weight make it easy to carry the drive in a pocket or bag. The casing is made from over 50% recycled plastics, helping to reduce the environmental impact. The packaging is also made from over 50% recycled pulp and is fully recyclable. The red finish sets the drive apart from standard colour options.
