Tenda TFC300B Gigabit Media Converter WDM

Tenda TFC300B Gigabit Media Converter WDM
The Tenda TFC3 media converter is used to convert signals between a copper Ethernet network and an optical interface. The gigabit converter changes electrical signals from a classic twisted-pair cable into light pulses transmitted through an optical fibre and also performs the reverse conversion. The device operates with a transmission speed of 1,000Mb/s on both interface types. The metal construction protects the internal components from external damage and helps to dissipate heat during operation. Integrated surge protection can withstand voltage spikes of up to 6kV, which contributes to the stability of the connected network infrastructure. Installing and connecting the entire system does not require any software setup or driver installation. The device works on a plug-and-play basis, so you just need to connect the power supply, Ethernet cable, and optical connector. The current status is indicated by built-in LEDs, which clearly show the power and activity on each port.

Key Features of the Tenda TFC300B Media Converter
- The device converts a copper gigabit connection to an optical interface
- WDM technology enables bidirectional data transmission over a single optical fibre
- The metal casing increases mechanical durability and improves cooling
- Integrated protection withstands electrical surges up to 6kV
- An SC optical port with a UPC polish ensures a stable connection over a distance of 3km
- The Auto-MDI/MDIX feature eliminates the need for crossover Ethernet cables
- LED light indicators show power status and port activity
Single-Fibre Transmission with WDM Technology and Range
The Tenda TFC300B media converter uses Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology for bidirectional data transmission. This method allows both sending and receiving optical signals simultaneously over a single optical fibre. The device transmits a light signal at a wavelength of 1,310nm and receives at a wavelength of 1,550nm. Thanks to this solution, the cost of acquiring optical routes is halved compared to traditional dual-fibre systems. The device supports long-distance connections using single-mode optical cable. The SC-type optical port with a standard UPC polish allows for stable signal transmission without quality degradation. The maximum length of the connected optical fibre for the device is a full 3km, which meets the requirements for connecting buildings within a campus.
Ethernet Port, Operating Features, and Compatibility
The Tenda TFC300B metal media converter includes one RJ45 Ethernet port supporting gigabit speed. The port offers auto-negotiation of speed and automatic detection of crossover cables (Auto-MDI/MDIX). The network port adapts itself to the speed of the connected device and eliminates the need to use special crossover patch cables. For the optical link to function correctly, a compatible counterpart with reversed wavelengths for transmitting and receiving must be connected on the opposite side. The sister model, the Tenda TFC300A, which transmits at 1,550nm and receives at 1,310nm, serves this purpose. The device operates reliably in a temperature range from 0°C to 45°C and its power consumption does not exceed 3W, which contributes to an economical, continuous operation.
