The model follows the successful 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036), which revolutionized the standard zoom lens segment. The A063 delivers high resolution and superior image quality through a redesigned optical design, while retaining the compact size of its predecessor. The lens provides exceptional image quality from edge to edge of the frame throughout the zoom range and offers the soft and beautiful bokeh typical of light lenses. In addition, it supports camera functions such as Eye AF, vignetting correction, chromatic aberration and distortion correction in-camera. It has a compact and lightweight design, making it ideal for travel, street photography, everyday carry and spontaneous photo shoots.

Capture every moment with fast and accurate autofocus
The autofocus system uses a linear VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) motor for high speed and precision focusing to infinity, even at high lens apertures. The focusing speed is approximately twice as fast as the first generation 28-75mm F/2.8 (Model A036) and enables reliable tracking of moving subjects, making it ideal for action shots and silent video recording. Linear motor also suppresses noise and vibration during focusing, making it the ideal choice for photography and video in environments where silent shooting is required.
Enhanced macro capabilities with a minimum focusing distance of 0.18 m
The minimum focusing distance of the lens is now only 0.18m at a focal length of 28mm, allowing you to capture impressive close-up images using the perspective of a wide-angle lens. The working distance at this setting is approximately 4.4 cm, with a maximum magnification of 1 : 2,7. At a focal length of 75 mm, the minimum focusing distance is 0.38 m and the magnification is 1 : 4.1, allowing comfortable macro shots with a greater working distance.
TAMRON Lens Utility™ for lens updates and customization
The lens is compatible with the TAMRON Lens Utility application, which allows firmware updates and customization of focusing functions and other parameters directly via computer without the need for a camera (requires TAMRON Connection Cable, sold separately). The A-B Focus function allows you to switch between two preset focus points at the touch of a button. You can also choose between linear and non-linear manual focus modes according to the photographer's preference.

BBAR layer and circular screen
The BBAR coating minimizes reflections on the lens surface, suppressing unwanted veils and flare and ensuring sharp, high-contrast images with high quality. The aperture of the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 is designed to maintain a smooth, circular shape even when stopped down two stops from full aperture. This creates a softly blurred background with a nice bokeh.
GM aspherical elements to minimize distortion and sharpness to the corners and LD elements to reduce chromatic aberration
The GM aspherical elements effectively correct imaging defects that are common in ultra-wide angle lenses, especially distortion and loss of sharpness at the edges of the image. Thanks to glass moulding technology, it is possible to produce members with shapes that cannot be achieved by conventional methods, which contributes to higher image quality. LD members help reduce chromatic aberration, which reduces image sharpness. Glass with a low dispersion index has less tendency to split the light rays into a spectrum of colours, which allows effective compensation for longitudinal and lateral chromatic aberration, which is a problem especially with wide-angle and telephoto lenses.
Fluorine coating to repel water and grease
The fluorine coating with high resistance and repellency to water and grease easily cleans the lens surface and protects it from dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints, ensuring long-term protection for your important lenses.
