Speaker with powerful and detailed sound
With crystal-clear sound and 300 watts of power, the ULT TOWER 5 brings the party to your space. The device is ideal for garden parties, evening events and DJ sets at house parties. The speaker was co-developed with renowned music creators, including GRAMMY-nominated producer Dot Da Genius, award-winning drummer, producer and musical director Daru Jones, music producer, composer and DJ Dready, and sound engineer and producer Dennis ""Roc.AM"" Jones. This wireless party speaker delivers music exactly as it's meant to sound. 300 watts of raw power drive a large 230mm woofer, while the newly designed ULT Duct maximises airflow for deep bass. Two tweeters reproduce every detail of the music exactly as the artist intended.
The Sony ULT TOWER 5 has multiple sound modes
Get full control over your music with four distinct sound modes—Deep Bass, Attack Bass, Flat and Live. Each offers a different experience and is available at the touch of a button. Deep Bass for resonant depth. Attack Bass for clean dynamics and energy. Live for a live performance atmosphere. Flat provides a clean, neutral sound ideal for DJs mixing their own sets. In the Sony | Sound Connect app, you can create your own equaliser profile and instantly switch back to it at any time. Sound Field Optimisation automatically adapts to both your environment and the positioning of the Sony ULT TOWER 5 speaker in the room.
Iconic light frame around the grille
The Sony ULT TOWER 5 Bluetooth speaker will be unmissable thanks to its stylish light frame. It pulses and reacts in real-time to the music being played. You'll have a total of three light modes – Beat, Wave and Mellow. These allow you to create the right atmosphere for a wide variety of moments. Switch between modes with a single button on the back of the Sony ULT TOWER 5 speaker, or take full control of the Bluetooth party speaker directly in the Sony | Sound Connect app.
Speaker with up to 20 hours of battery life
The portable party speaker keeps the music going all day and all night, thanks to an integrated battery with up to 20 hours of life. In Stamina mode, the Bluetooth speaker's battery life is extended even further. When the battery does run out, Quick Charge is here to help. The Sony ULT TOWER 5 only needs to charge for 10 minutes to give you another 100 minutes of playback. For longer events, simply plug the speaker into the mains and play all night without worry. What's more, the ULT TOWER 5 also doubles as a power bank. You can charge your device, such as a mobile phone, via the USB port.
Practical grips for easier carrying
The speaker weighs just under 13kg, but you can still move it wherever you want with relative ease. Four grips—one on each corner—make it easy for one person to carry, or with the help of another. You can easily move the Sony ULT TOWER 5 between rooms or carry it to the boot of your car. Once the speaker is in place, especially at a party or outdoors, you'll appreciate the IPX4 resistance. This means splashing water or spilt drinks won't stop your event. The Sony ULT TOWER 5 is the perfect outdoor party speaker.
Advanced DJ Connectivity
The ULT POWER series brings professional DJ connectivity. Connect your DJ mixer directly via the XLR input for a clean, high-quality audio signal with full control over the sound. And if you want to go even further, the XLR output allows you to chain multiple ULT TOWER speakers together and build a professional sound system as large as the event requires. The USB-C input makes it easy to connect your phone or laptop for instant audio playback, while the RCA input adds more flexibility for connecting other audio sources. The microphone input supports live vocals and presenting and is fully compatible with the Sony ULT MIC for a seamless wireless experience.
Party Chain by Auracast
Connect compatible ULT TOWER speakers at the touch of a button. Each speaker in the chain will share the same powerful sound, synchronised lighting and settings, so the bigger the system you create, the more powerful the experience you'll get. To ensure stereo sound, add a second, identical ULT TOWER speaker. The Stereo Pair feature, easily set up in the Sony | Sound Connect app, creates an immersive left and right channel system that will fill every corner of the room with rich, detailed sound.
Number of channels
The number of channels in speaker systems and home cinemas indicates the number of independent audio signals (speakers) and subwoofers, most often in an X.Y format (e.g. 2.0, 5.1). It denotes how many audio tracks are reproduced simultaneously, which determines the spatial experience and bass depth of the system, from basic stereo sound (2.0) to surround sound (5.1 and higher).
System type
An active speaker is one that has a built-in amplifier, so all you need to do is connect it to a sound source, either wired or wirelessly, to listen. Passive speakers are more often referred to as speaker systems. They are designed for high-quality, loud, and dynamic listening in the comfort of your home and are not suitable for frequent transport. The main advantage of passive speakers is the ability to connect a variety of sources via a separate amplifier.

Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio. In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
