Mission of Last Hope
A stunning, thrilling new interplanetary adventure from the author of the worldwide bestseller The Martian. Ryland Grace was the only survivor left on a desperate mission of last hope. If it fails, humanity will perish. But there's a slight catch - Ryland doesn't know. He can't even remember his own name, let alone that he has a job to do and how he's going to accomplish it. All he knows is that he slept for a very, very long time. That he woke up millions of miles from home. And he's got two dead bodies keeping him company. As his memories come flooding back, he realises that he is travelling in a small ship, assembled by all the Earth governments and space agencies and thrust into deep space to avert the threat of our species' extinction. And thanks to an unexpected ally, he may even succeed.
Andy Weir
Andy Weir started his first job at the age of 15 - working as a programmer in a government laboratory. Since then he has been working as a software engineer. He has devoted his life to science and technology and has devoted himself to subjects such as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics and the history of manned spaceflight. Andy has always been fascinated by space travel and, like many children, wanted to become an astronaut. Instead, he has written a book, The Martian, and hopes it is the first of his many trips into interstellar space.
