Purchased for a student dorm room, it serves the purpose and at least we don't have different bags everywhere for sorted waste. The lid on the left side is unfortunately popping off the hinge, but if I really wanted to, I could screw it on tight for a few bucks. The mechanism is simple - the hooker slides out the middle basket and this lifts the lid. For the money, I'd probably expect a little better quality, but that's too much to ask.
