Tested on iPhone 15 Pro MAX and iPhone 15 Pro with the same result. Apparently, the manufacturer saved on "no wire" and tried to compensate for it with active cooling, unfortunately with rather questionable results.
The description says "metal construction", this is not true, the holder is completely plastic, albeit a nice, well made plastic.
