noise cancelling is a tragedy, very weak for headphones with a price over 3 litres. When you turn it on, you can hear noise and as a result it is better to leave the NC off. The headphones themselves dampen the surroundings quite well. I get better results with another brand of plugs per litre, which also have a wind suppression feature.
the sound in the base is awful, but as with most headphones, it can be tweaked in the app and then in an external equalizer.
More for quieter music or electronica. Everything sounds great there. They've been lagging quite a bit in the more aggressive genres. Again, compared to plugs 3 times cheaper.
wire - passive mode is a fallback when you run out of juice. Wired + headphones on will improve the speech, but only wireless plays best. Which is a shame. So lossless listening is basically out of the question. Maybe through some DAC and amplifier they will sound better, but that's an extra complication.
