I was looking for a device that has a line-in recording function and saves the recording to MP3 files. This recorder does just that. However, I did not find the term line-in in the English version of the manual (hence not even in the description in the Alza catalogue). The description of this functionality is entitled "Recording audio from an external device" in the manual.
I feel that the price matches the quality. I'm satisfied.
