I've had the phone for about 2 weeks, and as someone who works a lot with AI tools and also trades on the stock market, this phone is, after an extremely long time, absolutely fantastic. Its versatility is perfect, the speed hasn't disappointed so far, and the battery life of 1.5 days when unfolded is absolutely excellent (we all charge our phones overnight anyway). I'm genuinely thrilled and if Samsung were to also adjust the padding, I think the phone would climb to the top in many markets.
Comfortable size in the hand
Good battery life
Very sharp picture and excellent brightness even in sunny weather.
I was worried about the opening mechanism, but the option to split the screen for two or more apps is divine.
Charging speed
The phone is extremely pleasantly thin when unfolded
A poorly made Android for this type of phone, and you need to use other tools to make it more comfortable to use.
Unnecessarily large padding on a small screen which you can't get rid of, you can only reduce it by half, but even that is a crazy amount of space.
The camera lenses stick out, and when you put a screen protector on them, it turns your phone into a 1cm diagonal seesaw.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 takes the foldable phone category a step further, bringing great improvements. I particularly appreciate the smooth operation of the entire system, the more durable construction and the superb internal panel, which is a joy to watch multimedia content on or to comfortably edit work documents. In addition, the new Galaxy AI artificial intelligence features are a great bonus that really makes my daily use easier. In most respects, the phone has met my high expectations and the investment was definitely worth it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a two-in-one device.

Design, build quality (if I don't count the rear lenses)
the screen's colour reproduction (it’s not the best you can get these days but it’s still pretty decent)
modes and routines (hats off and credit to everyone who came up with and designed it)
The battery life and charging speed are quite a lot above average.
form effect (at least for me)
Thin
It did the impossible and revived my desire to play Clash of Clans again after about a 2-year break.
All the negatives are somehow related to the user interface and the ease of use of the phone, which could have been solved much more cleverly and user-friendly, but it's not even worth mentioning here, hopefully any future updates will sort it out.
Android can't play two audio tracks at once, which means that in split-screen apps (multitasking in windows on the large display), you can't run two videos; only one will ever play, the other will pause.

My first Fold. I couldn't resist, it looks truly beautiful. I'm switching from an S26 Ultra. Hope I don't regret it. A bit worried about the fold.

After switching from the Note20 Ultra to the Fold8, the only thing I'll miss is the built-in S Pen. I've only had the phone for two days, but it feels premium, the build quality is high, and despite the large internal display, it's easy to use. The unfolded display is excellent for the web, videos, documents, and multiple apps at the same time. Everything is fast and smooth so far. I also appreciate the integration with the Samsung ecosystem and the AI functions. The camera also looks very decent. The disadvantage is unfortunately the higher price, but the Fold8 offers me something a classic phone simply doesn't have.

Basically a phone and a small tablet in one.

Missing built-in S Pen
Visible crease on the inner display
Bigger concerns about the long-term durability of the folding display

I've really grown to like this phone, especially during practical use on holiday in Berlin. I made the most use of the large display split between two apps. For example, while on the bus, I had Google Maps on one side to track my route and my stop, and on the other side, I had ChatGPT, which I used to figure out where to go next or what interesting things were nearby. When it recommended a place, I could open it directly in Maps. I surprisingly started using two apps side-by-side very often. The large internal display is also pleasant for browsing the web, using maps, and other tasks. However, some Android apps can't yet make ideal use of it. For instance, the native Proton Mail app didn't suit me, so I installed the web version as a PWA instead. It makes better use of the larger display and shows more columns, yet I have it as a normal icon on my home screen and it works almost the same as a regular app. The keyboard in its default setting takes up quite a lot of space, especially on the smaller external display, but it's easy to resize it on Android. Similarly, I wasn't keen on the default 4×4 icon layout. Using the Good Lock app, I changed it to 5×5. On top of that, Good Lock offers plenty of other options for customising the Fold, which I find more useful on this phone than on a standard mobile. The only hardware issue that bothers me so far is the phone wobbling when I place it on a table. It doesn't lie flat because of the protruding cameras. But I hope to solve that soon with a suitable cover or a finger grip, which will also create another point of support.
the large display is really practical for two apps side by side
Multitasking while travelling, for example Google Maps + ChatGPT
large area for web, maps and work
lots of customisation options via Good Lock
The outer display is sufficient for quick, everyday use.
Some Android apps still don't make good use of the large display.
I wasn't happy with the default keyboard and the 4×4 layout, but both are easy to adjust.
the phone wobbles on a table because of the cameras

I'm switching from a ZFOLD 5 and it's clear at first glance that the technology has moved on significantly in 3 years. The folding display is perfect, brilliantly readable and with practically no crease (compared to older models). I'm finding the phone's unusual dimensions a bit of a challenge and I'm still getting used to them, but I believe I'll get there. The biggest problems I'm currently seeing are that the fingerprint reader disappears when I rotate the phone, so I can't just find it out of habit when approving things in apps. Sometimes it's at the top, sometimes at the bottom, you have to wrestle with it a bit :). But the biggest drawback is probably the price.

the hole punch for the inner camera is distinctly distracting (it's handled much better on the Z FOLD5)
The fingerprint reader is quite flimsy and I often have to scan my finger multiple times.

The construction feels solid and the ergonomics are excellent – the phone is comfortable to hold, even when unfolded. The outer display is perfect for day-to-day use, while the inner display is great for consuming content on YouTube, Instagram, etc. Personally, I think this style of foldable phone will gradually replace traditional tall phones. However, the price is really high, and for such an investment, you would expect a better camera. While the optics can take decent photos, it lags behind the competition in the same price category. The competition performs better, especially in more demanding conditions (low light, zoom). This device is more for people who are primarily interested in an innovative design and a premium vibe, rather than those who prioritise having the best camera.

Brilliant phone! The 4:3 aspect ratio really surprised me – it finally fits comfortably in my hand and pocket, but when unfolded I still get a proper large display for work. Performance is flawless, screen is gorgeous. I use multitasking all the time. I'm wondering why we haven't had a foldable on the market for ages. I recommend it, even at this high price! 👍

I'm upgrading from a Galaxy S23+ and I have to say, for the first time in years I've had that 'wow' moment of holding something new in my hand, which I last felt years ago when I held an HTC HD2 and thought, 'This is the future'. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks so; so many units of the Fold 8 have been pre-ordered that Samsung is looking at a new record. As for the phone itself: with the arrival of the Fold 7, foldables finally don't feel like a first-generation product, but something that makes sense for normal use. In my opinion, the Fold 8 is a form factor for the people, just like my S23+ was a phone that was just right for my hand, with no unnecessary bells and whistles – simply for the people. It feels comfortable to hold both folded and unfolded, it isn't extremely slippery in the hand, and I'm not afraid to use it without a case (which backfired on me yesterday, I dropped it on its corner outside), but I consider it a baptism of fire, a durability test for the greater good, if you will (before a certain YouTuber does his own and takes a lighter to the phone). You can see the result in the photo – the aluminium used is really very durable, the whole phone feels very dense and solid. TIP: It's an absolute must to start using GoodLock and HomeUp from Samsung (you can find them in the Samsung App Store).
The workmanship, materials used, design
Speed and performance
The battery really lasts the whole working day until the evening.
Productivity on the inner display
Controllability in closed mode
The speakers are VERY loud for how thin the device is
Fast charging (for Samsung, at least)
Speed of delivery – thanks Alza. I’ve had it at home since 3/8. : )
Dual SIM is eSIM+nanoSIM only
No zoom camera, I would have preferred it over the ultrawide.
The speakers are on the left side of the device when watching a video, so there's no stereo effect.
Some apps get spooked by the non-standard aspect ratio of both the outer and inner display, but they are usable.
