I chose the Samsung A57 as a replacement for my 5-year-old POCO. And I have to say that, in my case, there’s been an improvement in every respect.
A beautiful display, a very fast system response, a decent camera and a very well-executed design. When you add to that the promise of system updates for six years, this phone is just perfect for me.
However, I do have a few criticisms – they aren’t major, but they are a bit of a hindrance. I miss wireless charging. For a phone in this price range, I would have expected a lower battery capacity; cheaper models from other manufacturers offer a higher capacity.
Overall, however, I rate the phone very highly, both in terms of functionality and design.
I bought the phone quite recently and I'm both excited and a little disappointed about it. The phone as such looks elegant, it is excellently processed, powerful enough, has a good display, good sound, sufficient battery life, simply in terms of hardware it meets everything I wanted from it. I am much less enthusiastic about the software. The phone has apps for everything - Bigsby Assistant, Samsung Wallet, Samsung Keyboard, and so on. It wouldn't be a bad thing if the apps had real Czech support in addition to a translated user interface. The default Bigsby doesn't understand Czech, so you'll probably swap it out for Google Assistant very quickly. Samsung Wallet does not support credit cards in the Czech Republic, so you need to install Google Wallet. But with Google Wallet on Samsung phones, you can't set it up so that you have to unlock the phone first for NFC payments. And that means you'll either be turning on NFC manually, or if you lose the phone, anyone will be able to pay with it even with the screen locked. Samsung Keyboard is decent, but voice input in English just doesn't work (you need to switch it to Google voice input).
Not to knock the software, you also have features that other brands' phones don't have. For example, I really like the Modes and Routines for automating tasks on the phone. The AI features for photos and video are also interesting. And I liked the app to transfer data from my old phone.
In summary, Samsung apps are good, but not everything works in the Czech Republic. The phone has long support for updates (6 years), so I hope they decide to do something about the support for other countries and languages. From the official Czech distribution I really expected better functionality of the software in the Czech Republic.

I've only been using the phone for a short time, but I'm already happy with it. The transition from my old phone was quick and all my data transferred without any problems. The phone is zippy, nothing lags and the display has beautiful colours.
I was also pleasantly surprised by the battery life, which lasts me the whole day with normal use. The camera takes nice photos, especially outdoors in daylight.
Overall, I have a good feeling about this phone and I think it offers a lot for the price.

I’m very happy with the phone itself. It has a stunning, large display with a 120Hz refresh rate, on which everything runs absolutely smoothly. The battery life is excellent, and I was also pleased with the full IP68 water resistance and the very decent 50Mpx camera, which takes sharp photos with lovely colours.
I find the contents of the pack a huge disappointment. As is customary, the manufacturer does not include a charging adapter in the box, so you’ll have to buy one separately at an extra cost. I think this is a real shame for a phone in this price range, and a frustrating hassle for the customer, because unless you buy a more powerful charger, you won’t be able to make the most of the 45W fast charging.

The switch from the Samsung A50 to the A57 5G represents a huge technological leap. Thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate, the display is incomparably smoother and much brighter in sunlight. The cheap plastic body has been replaced by a luxurious metal frame and durable Gorilla Glass. At 6.9 mm thick, the phone is extremely slim and has a premium feel. The new 50Mpx camera has optical stabilisation, so it takes great photos even in the dark. With an IP68 rating, the phone is finally fully waterproof and dustproof. The battery lasts for two days of use and, thanks to 45W charging, it charges in a flash. Modern 5G connectivity and six years of software updates ensure a long service life. However, you’ll have to do without a 3.5mm jack for standard wired headphones. You won’t find a charger in the box any more – just a cable; you’ll need to buy the adapter separately. Wi-Fi 6 is much faster than on my old phone, so that’s fine.
The phone ticks all the boxes I expected it to. This isn’t the first time I’ve bought a Samsung A-series phone, and I’ve always been happy with every model. And it’s no different with the A57 model. A battery that’s just right for my needs. The display is superbly crafted, as is the entire body of the phone. The phone is very comfortable to hold, and its slim body looks very modern and futuristic. Just like on the A56, the camera is brilliant.
I was buying the phone as a present, and the main aim was to find a worthy successor to my ageing Samsung Galaxy S20+. I have to say that this model meets the criteria for a top mark. The data transfer via Smart Switch went absolutely smoothly, and the recipient got the hang of it straight away. Although this is the A series, the system’s responsiveness, the quality of the display and the camera easily keep pace with what users were used to with the older S series, and in many respects the phone has even surprised us thanks to newer technologies and a better battery. As a present, it was definitely a hit, and I can recommend it with a clear conscience to anyone looking for a reliable phone that will last for several years to come.
