It feels very solid, but at the same time it's not overly large or heavy - I wouldn't be afraid to drop the tablet. The color is darker than the photos here. It was VERY hard to put on, I was afraid I would bend my tablet. I appreciate that it has a flap so it won't tend to open itself in the bag. Hopefully it won't get too dirty - the material is very pleasant to move
