Unfortunately, I should have read up on this copy of the dubious hexclad system before I bought the wok. It is basically a non-stick surface to be protected by steel projections. The reality is that because of the steel "protrusions", the meat or eggs stick to the wok more and the non-stick surface starts to peel after a while (see various reviews on youtube). If one does not have gas and thus cannot afford a wok made of carbon steel (the only proper heating source and material for a wok), then a wok with a non-stick bottom (probably titanium, as it can withstand high temperatures, which is essential for stir fry) is probably the best acceptable solution for an induction wok. This wok is one big gimmick.
