I bought it recently as a Christmas present but had to test the functionality and did the basic setup straight away. I was worried about connecting to fast Wi-Fi, not 2.4 but that's probably standard now and everything works as it should. Since I have tested it, I can only praise it so far and I believe that as a gift it will be a great success.
The display size is ideal
Narrow edges from the display itself, so the reader is not unnecessarily large
The actual features of the design type of this reader
Flickering when switching, but that's due to the technology used, still for some it can be uncomfortable.

We had the opportunity to compare this Onyx Boox Go Color 7" and ONYX BOOX PAGE, black, 7". I wanted to know how the colour display looks and how it behaves. They are almost identical. The only difference is in the size of the storage and the colour of the display. Both are fresh, quickly and comfortably adjustable, understandable, Czech, can install 3rd party apps via google play. I used this to install the palmbooks app. Everything works perfectly. Both reading books and listening to eaudiobooks. Wherever I end up, I continue reading or listening after opening it again. The speakers are sufficient for me in terms of loudness. They're not exactly loud, but they're enough for a reader. If someone needs to play it louder, it can be paired with a Bluetooth speaker and then it plays very loud: -D. Or ear buds: -). As for the sensitivity on the colour display, I have to say that it is very bad. It's so cloudy and faint. I tried to set it up differently, but the result is not great. I see, it's elink you that it's not amoled: -), but I would have expected better sensitivity and backlighting. I bought the colour one in order to be able to recommend to our readers whether to buy a colour one or not. For me I can recommend the black and white (ONYX BOOX PAGE, black, 7"), which is great. Sharpness of writing, excellent readability and backlighting. Color does not add any value. The man won't use it.
It allows me to download apps, so I can read subscription magazines on my reader right away and buy e-books or borrow e-books through my local library.
Allows you to listen to podcasts.
User-friendly web interface eur.boox.com, through which I upload books to the reader.
Then I read only one book on this reader, PDB didn' t open, PDF unusable, so realistically probably only EPUB if you upload another SW. The sensitivity of the touch screen is weaker, as if you have a low-quality protective glass on your mobile phone. I don' t know about you, I' m right-handed but I hold the reader in my left hand, so I have to use it upside down. The system does allow turning, but it starts normally and turns after a while. The location of the power switch at the bottom is impractical, it can be felt, logically it is in the upper right corner where every mobile phone has it, but instead they placed the charger connector there. you don' t mind. However, if you need an Android reader to be able to use the library' s palmbook titles, there aren' t many other options.
And I' m not talking about the fact that you can' t find a case other than the overpriced non-functional magnetic nonsense from which the reader keeps falling out. Must be glued with double-sided cardboard!
Why on earth isn' t a normal locking case made where the reader snaps into the silicone frame and is thus protected from all sides? You can find it on every mobile phone, but this e-reader is not even available on amazon. You can get used to everything, but it' s a shame that the designers didn' t think a little more about the design.
well lit
built-in SW will work
display
The built-in reader cannot page PDF like Cool Reader should
I didn' t find the option to automatically open a read book after turning it on, which should be a basic function of a reader.
only supported BOOX apps can be installed on android (note taking, answering machine, etc. ), it is definitely not suitable for anything other than reading books.
Purchased because there are more and more libraries not supporting Kindle and having their own Android apps.
shadows of text (images) from the previous page loaded remain on the display. This is not the case with kindle.
the response time of android 11 is significantly slower compared to android on mobile, and compared to kindle

Works very well as a tablet.
You can borrow eBooks from the library via the PalmBooks app
The quality of the display is comparable to the Kindle paperwhite, the page turning speed is great.
Display backlight temperature can be adjusted
I find that the battery doesn't last as much as the Kindle, but it doesn't matter at all. This is probably because Android is used as the operating system.
The speaker does not reach the quality of mobile phones, but it is sufficient for audio books.
