I bought it for my son, so I don' t have much personal experience, but I like it. Even though he' s had it for 14 days, a week of that on vacation, and he' s used it enough for reading and writing, he hasn' t had to charge it yet. I primarily bought it for him as a sheet music reader. But he mostly used it for playing the gamebook, in one half of the pdf screen, in the other notebook for notes.

The conversion of colors to black and white display is lousy, therefore some android applications are unusable. Maybe the buttons and texts on them are not visible at all. Skinnable applications are an advantage.
The sound quality of the speakers is gone, it' s fine for a podcast or teaching English, the music is unusable.

As a frequent traveler for my job, I have long appreciated the benefits of e-readers and have owned many amazon kindles over the years. But I have had enough of amazon's use of DRM files and proprietary software. I dislike having no control/ownership of files that I have actually purchased. The last straw came when amazon decided to switch my account from amazon.co.uk to amazon.com without consulting me. In the process they somehow lost my entire library of e-books built up over more than 10 years. Sick to death of amazon's arrogance towards their customers, I made the plunge and bought this. I was slightly worried that I would somehow be locked into Google's proprietary universe instead of amazon's. Not so. This machine functions incredibly well, is unlocked, and is, in my opinion of better build quality than it's kindle competition. I have already loaded several hundred e-books and also an RRS. I now get daily news articles from my chosen news providers.It's like having an old-fashioned daily newspaper in addition to a huge library. I even enjoy the black and white video for news videos.It's like the newspapers in the Harry Potter films and perfectly adequate if your primary interest is receiving information as opposed to being entertained/immersed. So I wouldn't advocate it for watching a movie or youtube videos etc. But that is not what it is meant for.

Case cover is excellent. Perfect for reading on a desk and protects the device well. The device sleeps when the cover is put on as it should.
