Very poorly processed product from China. The optics already contain small speckles and dirt out of the box. But that wouldn't be the worst thing. The worst part is the poor design of the optical system. If you are observing at the highest magnification and want to keep the specimen in focus, you have to bring the microscope stage with the specimen close to the objective lens so close that the specimen and possibly the objective lens are damaged. When we wanted the object to be sharp, the distance between the lens and the cover glass of the slide was less than a tenth of a millimetre. If the microscope was used with only a little carelessness (by a child), it would not have a long life. I have no idea if it was a defect of the piece or the whole series, but the latter is more likely. Unfortunately, it is already clear from the appearance that the Bresser microscopes and probably others will be the same products from China, just with a different company name. So there is nothing to do but try and hope. It is a pity that there are not some reasonable microscopes available from reputable European brands. The only positive is the approach of Alza, which accepted the return of the goods within the 14-day period without any problems, even though my son had already thrown away the original packaging.

Plug-in and battery operated - can be taken on adventurous outdoor expeditions
solid stable, well thought out design
Our 5 year old girl is totally smitten with it - we didn't even expect it, she's exploring everything and everywhere and finding out what she sees and why - perfect gift, daddy took the plunge: -)
nothing yet, we'll see in the spring when there's more to explore: -)

I was buying for my niece, from the offer it seemed like a reasonable price performance ratio. After unpacking, I was scared by the overall impression of the microscope. Light and all so unlivable. But my niece was thrilled. As a first microscope OK, but otherwise I would look for a (semi)professional one from the second hand store in this price level (1900Kč).
relatively cheap and works
upper illumination
suitable for children
I'm a microbiologist, and I'm used to the bullish and adjustable microscopes. The overall quality here is not that high, it looks very flimsy
As a gift, the inquisitive child was very excited. For younger children, I also recommend you consider pocket microscopes (we got ours with the Carson MM-300 with LED).
A device with a good price/performance ratio;
The package includes several slides and a preparation kit;
Possibility to buy other accessories, e.g. camera;
The product is compact and lightweight;
Can be used with mains power and on AA batteries, which are included.
Without a cross table, slides are difficult to manipulate sideways;
Younger children cannot handle the microscope, the assistance of an adult is necessary.
for the price great, it is easy to focus and that is the most important thing. Top light for non-transparent materials, bottom light for transparent materials, power supply for both battery and cable.
you need to buy a cover slip for observing your own slides with a thickness of 0.17 MM at most for 400x observation, but this is at least 3 euros.
