I don't know if it's storage, transport, wood or the softness of the stiffness.... But sharpening these crayons is a highly anti-stress affair. I've never seen crayons this brittle before, 1/4 crayon in a bag per sharpening. If I had thought to read the reviews online earlier, I would never have bought them. Martina B.
