I bought the Clara BW mainly because of the possibility to repair it myself if something breaks down in a few years. The gesture navigation is pretty good, the workmanship is pretty good anyway, and the optional Sleepcover cover is great too, thanks to the built-in stand that matches my reader perfectly. Sideloading your own books e.g. from the computer, calibre does it for you pretty well. The display is great quality, but I might take something bigger for comics and manga. I've read five books in two weeks without any problems and the battery is at 70% despite all this use and reading 3-4 hours a day. The reader is probably the best choice in this size format besides the Pocketbook Verse Pro. If you're tempted by the possibility of a patch, a looser ecosystem VS Kindle and so on, then you should consider Clara BW as a decent option.

But that's more a problem of Calibre and conversion (even if I put the conversion into kepub), than of the reader itself
