With a bit of effort, you can move the parts so that they’re further apart, but then the case becomes impractical again. I solved the problem by not using the case, and I stuck a tiny magnet to the handle, which keeps it attached to the side of the coffee machine.

If you're serious about coffee, it's probably better to look for another distributor, this one isn't downright bad, but it's tiny, the needles are too close together and more for travel.
