I switched to this iPhone after a break of almost a year, when I kind of needed to get my thoughts straight. I started with the iPhone 4s, then there was the iPhone 5s, after that the iPhone SE, then came the Xr, which was my first bigger iPhone, and which I liked a lot, then came the standard iPhone 11, which I liked a lot, after that came the upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which was very hilarious with good quality photos. Then I upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and it came as a big disappointment. It's as if the quality of the photos has changed compared to 13, not that the photos are not good, but some of the charm has gone. Something I enjoyed about the Xr, 11 or 13 series.
So I switched to the competing Pixel 8 Pro, pure Android which was able to move most of the settings and apps from the iPhone, unfortunately after almost a year of resting from iOS we kind of started to miss the iOS environment, Apple controls, etc.
I figured, after reading a few reviews and comparisons, that I would try the basic iPhone again and straight to the latest generation, the iPhone 16.
So far I am not disappointed, on the contrary. It seems to me that with the iPhone 16, Apple has managed to pick up a bit of the past.
It may not be obvious at first glance, but with a year's break on the Pixel, I can tell you it really is.
