I’ve switched from the GoPro Hero 11, and these are my first impressions. I was really surprised at how well the camera works. Insta360 really has thought everything through, and I can’t believe just how far ahead it is in some areas. For example, haptic feedback is a brilliant feature. When you’re controlling the camera from your helmet or it’s not directly in front of your eyes, you’ll know straight away when recording has started or stopped. Another big plus is the tilting display with a brightness of up to 2,500 nits, which is perfectly legible even in direct sunlight. I was also really surprised by the Charging Grip with its built-in battery. It will significantly extend the camera’s already excellent battery life. Neither GoPro nor DJI offer accessories like these at the moment. Another thing that pleasantly surprised me is the option to connect JBL wireless headphones or a Bluetooth intercom in the helmet. The audio is then mixed from the camera’s built-in microphones and the intercom microphone. It’s brilliant for videos with commentary, and I reckon that thanks to this, most people won’t need to buy a separate wireless microphone. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the video. The picture is beautifully sharp, the colours look natural and the stabilisation works brilliantly. To be honest, I didn’t expect the picture quality to be so good. The only thing I couldn’t get to work was the Insta360 Studio programme for Windows. It didn’t run on my computer, but as I use Pinnacle Studio 26, this doesn’t cause me any problems. I had originally been thinking of buying a new GoPro Mission 1, but in my opinion it doesn’t justify the high price premium compared to the competition. In the end, I decided to go for the Insta360 Ace Pro 2, and today I’m glad I made that choice. The camera was a really big and very pleasant surprise for me
