If you are looking for a well built JBOD, this is definitely a good choice. Price-wise, it may not be as interesting compared to the cheaper and smaller 3740 version, which is for 4 drives. However, from personal experience, the extra cost is really worth it. Compared to the 3740, this box is somewhere else in terms of quality of workmanship and usability. It feels like a much more honest piece of hardware. The noise level of this box (thanks to a bigger fan and better made insides) is also somewhere else. The temperatures of the disks in the full box are also normal (the fan has automatic control and without any intervention in the box it is always so, however, the fan runs only after the disks are activated (no need to turn off the main switch) and the temperatures are fine, so no intervention is necessary). The fan itself has a grille on the inside to keep cables out. So they solved that problem. I also appreciate the ability to turn individual discs off and on. Great if I need to back up just one disk, so the others don't have to run. I also take the integrated power supply as a plus, so I don't have to deal with the location of the adapter. The last thing I will mention is that from the back side, there is also one usb-c marked as HUB. Great for possible "stacking" of these boxes or some similar use. I recommend it.
