If you're looking for a blender for smoothies, it's probably fine, but this blender isn't really designed for blending everything. If you're blending meat, for example, it gets stuck under the spinning blades and it's a real test of patience to get it out – the gap under the blades is just too big, and the fact you can't remove this bottom part makes everything even more complicated. I appreciate the glass jug, but what's not so great is that there are only two speeds. The slower speed (i.e. 1) is still too fast, which makes it impossible to effectively blend larger quantities of ingredients – when everything gets mixed at once with such speed, chunks are left in the mixture. That's why I'd have appreciated a lower speed – I could have turned the blender on again, at a lower RPM, and the unblended ingredients would have been mixed in and blended straight away. The blender is quite noisy, but that's a minor thing. If you have a lot of patience, I'd recommend it; it's definitely a great blender that's worth trying, but I wouldn't fully recommend it to my friends – next time, instead of this one, I'd pay a bit more and go for a different one.
