I tested this and a competing product that I liked better in design but was inferior in function. This product is only 10cm tall when folded (compared to 17cm for the competition), which you will appreciate when you put a monitor on top of it. The disadvantage I see a bit in the size, my desk is designed as a corner desk and the base fits just about there. But I appreciate the lifting "sideways", i.e. the base still stays in the same place (compared to the competition, where there was an extendable arm). Overall I am satisfied with the base, it does what I needed, i.e. to take a break from sitting for a while.
