High quality metal/plastic pad. I combined it with a grizzly cooling plate. The body of the laptop cooled down by 10 degrees along with the transfer plate. Quiet, but it could have been quieter. The light in the pad is absolutely useless, because when the laptop is on it you don't know that there is something shining.
