I've already tested many DDR5 modules. After getting my hands on the new DDR5 ULL in the EXPO 1.2 version from G.Skill, I can say that these are the best pieces of memory I've had the chance to really thoroughly test, including OC. The memory modules are incredibly stable, have fantastic temperatures, and I was also able to compare them with my 2x16GB G.Skill DDR5 EXPO 1.1 8000MHz NEO GOLD kit. I'll provide a detailed description in the overall rating.
Secondary 6000 MT/s profile without ULL
Brilliant performance and uniform RGB lighting
Incredible temperatures compared to the G.Skill DDR5 Z5 Royal NEO GOLD EXPO – a difference of up to 10 degrees under maximum load.
Detected without any issues on the ASRock X870E Taichi OCF motherboard – I updated the BIOS to the latest version 4.43 beforehand.
Tested profiles without ULL and with ULL - everything is stable, no errors, with excellent timings of CL26 and CL24 at 6000 MT/s
RAM temperatures under 98% load max. 53.5 degrees at a maximum voltage of 1.7V - OCCT test for 60 minutes, TESTMEM5 test for 90 minutes with Ryzen 3D profile - Anta777
RAM temperatures under a 90% load were a maximum of 45 degrees at a maximum voltage of 1.7V – tested in Y-CRUNCHER for 90 minutes – Component Stress Tester:
N63 Classic NTT (v2)
VT3 Vector Transform (v3)
Complete AIDA64 Extreme v. 8.40 stress test for 180 minutes
Absolute overkill in combination with a 9850X3D, as this RAM is designed exclusively for AMD Ryzen.
SK-Hynix chips, A-DIE - Richtek power
Large thermal pad for PMIC
The attached photos were tested at a very tight timing of 6000MT/CL24
Very low latency straight out of the box without any adjustments - final latency with primary and secondary timing tweaks is 62–63ns
Brutal and sometimes double the price compared to other DDR5 6000MT/s without ULL.
Compatibility and functionality check on the respective motherboard - you must have the latest AM5 AGESA 1.3.0.1b and newer.
Only the basic JEDEC 4800 MT/s (not the newer 5600 MT/s)
Unless you're an enthusiast or an overclocker, a standard 2x16GB kit with CL30 is enough for your build – it's a waste of money on such incredibly expensive DDR5 modules.
Overall, it's a bad time to buy DDR5 RAM – unfortunately, the price increases for modules aren't stopping and it's only going to get worse.
