For the money a very good card, the transition from 1060 after 8 years a massacre: D The only fault at load quite a lot audible coil whine, but with sound or headphones absolutely fine
The card is great, but at higher loads it has a noticeably loud coil-whine (an unpleasant ticking or whistling sound). This card is the loudest component in the whole PC thanks to the coil-whine. (Size comparison image - GTX on the left, RTX on the right)
I upgraded an older Gigabyte WIndforce for the same series, so I got exactly what I expected and wanted. Great price/performance ratio for the model, quiet operation, etc etc.
But it is ESSENTIAL to check the compatibility on forers etc, not just on the manufacturer's website. Full compatibility with X570 boards is confirmed in stores and by Gigabyte, so I was expecting just a simple card swap and a PSU upgrade (although again, the card takes 250W max and according to the "required" 750W is overkill).
After installing the card, nothing worked, so I went on a twenty hour round of trying every cable and connector I could find, multiple driver reinstalls, clean system installs, a complete BIOS update, CMOS reset, and buying a second card (in case the first one was faulty). Only to find out on some obscure reddit that the card on X570 boards can't go to PCIE 4.0 (or other automatic setting), but the bios has to manually set PCIE to 3.0. Then everything goes beautifully as it should. For a card supporting PCIE 5.0 and a top motherboard at the time (and from the same manufacturer), I really wouldn't expect something like this. However, the card can't even fully utilize PCIE 3.0, so it's still ok. You just need to know about this in advance.
Decent performance for the price
Quiet
check compatibility with motherboards elsewhere on the internet before buying, not just with manufacturers
I was buying an unpacked product on Alza. I was very disappointed with the unpleasant sound the card made when under load, i.e. when the fans were running. I don't know if it was directly coil whine, but I really didn't want to listen to it. I don't know if it was an inferior piece or if all these cards have it. I stand by the fact that with Nvida cards it is good to go for low prices, because they are all comparable in performance in the final. But I don't want to hear unpleasant sounds. I came back.
